Cosmetic Industry: Steam Kettle Automation
Another cosmetic manufacturer reached out to us about a problem they were having with their manufacturing process. The company used a hot water system to heat their jacketed steam kettles and was having an issue reaching and maintaining the temperature that the process required.
After visiting their location and seeing their issues firsthand, we recommended changing from a hot water system to a steam boiler system. In addition to the steam boiler system, we designed and installed a temperature control system to modulate steam to keep their kettles at a consistent temperature.
The control system that was designed uses a temperature controller and a thermocouple to monitor their product temperature. The temperature controller supplies a signal to open and close a steam valve to maintain a set temperature. We also added a separate output signal that the customer can use to connect to their process logging system to keep track of the temperature throughout the entire process.
